Are you a Registered Nurse with recent surgical nursing experience? Do you want to extend your clinical knowledge beyond one speciality? Yes? Then we'd love to hear from you!

  • We have a mixture of part and full time permanent positions available.

We pride ourselves on working as part of a world class speciality, delivering advanced care to people who are sent from all over New Zealand, and being an outstandingly friendly supportive team

Our surgical wards are fast paced and, as well as general surgery, the surgical wards have an emphasis on liver, pancreas, oesophageal, colorectal and endocrine disorders, gastroenterology and trauma. You will have the opportunity to work in leading edge areas such as high dependency nursing, bariatric surgery, advanced nutrition and palliative care. The work is both challenging and rewarding with patients often having complex care needs.

There are 3 main surgical teams and an excellent multidisciplinary team who are skilled at providing holistic care for our patients.

Because of the high acuity of the patients we would prefer you to have recent surgical experience.

  • Have one year post registration experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Have a current Annual Practicing Certificate
