The opportunity has arisen for one or more pharmacists to join our friendly and supportive team, based at Nelson Hospital, on a 10 week fixed-term basis to provide pharmacy services in the new Medical Admitting Unit (MAU) . This could be appointed as a single full-time position (working 80 hours a fortnight), or as a number of part-time appointments (working a minimum of one day a week). It would be helpful if you could indicate your preferred FTE or days per week) in your covering letter.

Depending on your skill set you will either lead the development of services in the MAU, or you will support members of our existing team to do this.

You will be involved in the delivery of all aspects of clinical pharmacy services to the general medicine service and will support the medicine reconciliation service by immersing yourself in medication counselling and discharge planning, with a focus on patient safety.

You need to be able to demonstrate application of clinical knowledge, have good communication skills and be technology savvy and innovative in your approach. Previous experience of hospital pharmacy and evidence of postgraduate study is desirable, but not essential.

You must be a New Zealand registered Pharmacist with a current practising certificate.
