We're seeking a AOD clinicians, counsellors or psychologists to join our Southern Lakes Real service. If you’re passionate about supporting young people to help build their confidence, resilience and wellbeing and would like to work with a great team, we want to hear from you. There are multiple positions available, including full time and part time hours.
Using a therapeutic approach, our clinicians support young people experiencing issues or challenges that affect their mental health. After identifying and meeting their individual health and social care needs, the clinician will then support them to re-connect with community services and take control of their own lives.
They take a leading role in implementing the Real wellbeing strategy through innovative ways to improve the health of young people with mental health issues.

Real Lakes provide primary mental health and addiction services in the community to people aged between 12 and 20. We believe in the importance of community, connection and relationships - and in the ability of young people to shape their own futures.

The Team
Based in the idyllic Taupo, you'll be reporting to the Team Coach and working in a supportive team of three youth workers and five clinicians, working with young people in school and community settings.
No two days are the same in the Real office. In the morning you could be supporting a young person in a school setting, before spending the afternoon exploring a local walking track, gaining the trust of a young person in an environment that makes them comfortable.

We are interested to hear from candidates who have a current New Zealand practicing certificate with a relevant body. You’ll have experience working with youth with mental health and AoD issues, and will have the ability to support and inspire a team while providing mentoring and information to youth workers.
You'll be known for your caring, friendly and approachable manner and be passionate about your professional role and identity. You’ll have a passion for supporting youth and will have a non-judgmental approach to working within a diverse population. A real team player, you'll be an excellent communicator and the sort of person who brings fun and laughter to your work environment. You'll thrive in a supportive multi-disciplinary, innovative team environment where your skills and knowledge are valued and respected by your colleagues.
• You'll hold a current New Zealand full driver's license and a current first aid certificate
