We are looking for a part-time chef/cook for Fairview Golf and Country Club in Katikati, Western Bay of Plenty. Fairview is a busy golf course and country club, (public) café and popular and well-appointed function venue that operates 7 days a week.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated cook to work with our head chef in the café and for functions. We hold private, public and member functions anywhere from 20 people through to 120 with plated, buffet and customised menu options available.

Key responsibilities include:

• All aspects of working in a kitchen – we cater for a variety of functions from small gatherings to large events including weddings and golf tournaments as well as a 7 day a week cafe;
• Preparation of café (including cabinets) and function food to a consistently high standard;
• Maintaining a clean kitchen and standard of hygiene to ensure adherence to food safety;
• Working with the head chef to ensure customer requirements are met; and
• Working in accordance with the companies policies and procedures.

To be successful, you must:

• Have previous experience in a similar role (minimum 1 year);
• Possess excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work with other people;
• Have an ability to work under pressure and multi-task;
• Work a range of different shifts which include nights and weekends; and
• Have a friendly and positive attitude with a passion for providing quality service & consistently outstanding food.

It would be ideal if you also hold relevant cookery qualifications as well.

An hourly rate is dependent on experience and other qualities.
