The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating and cooking food and be looking to develop throughout a range of cooking styles. A willingness and readiness to pick up tools in any section is a requirement for this role; depending on the day you may be needed in the restaurant, cafe or function kitchen.
The role has the potential for professional development for the successful candidate into the more senior role of Sous Chef.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Assisting with the preparation and cooking of a range of different menus
• Maintaining the highest quality, freshness and appearance of all foods sent from kitchen
• Ensuring that the proper procedures are followed for the production and storage of all food items.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and work stations and the requirements of the Food Control Plan.

The successful candidate will need to:
• Have a minimum of 3-5 years fulltime experience, as well as a minimum of NZQA (Level 4) Cookery
• Be able to use their own initiative as well as work under guidance and take direction
• Be a team player, with a proactive ‘can do’ attitude
• Have a safety focus and an awareness of health and safety practices and protocols
• Be honest and reliable
