Auckland based busy ethnic Indian restaurant requires Indian Chef, Cook , Tandoori Cook, Assistant Restaurant Manager and Restaurant Manager. Applicant must have at least 2 years of work experience.

Indian Chef Duties & Responsibilities

The job duties and responsibilities are as follows but not limited to the following as employer may delegate additional duties.

- Preparation of all Indian and authentic cuisines as required by management

- To assist the Manager/Director in compiling menus or changes to menus depending on the customer demands.

- Preparation of all Indian dishes, maintaining quality standards, and food costs.

- Involved in innovation of new food products and promotion of restaurant business.

- Co-ordinate with staff members to ensure smooth operation in the kitchen.

- Ensure all food and hygiene standards are maintained in the kitchen at all times.

- To assist with introducing new authentic Indian dishes to the menu

- Monitor food quality and quantity of any new dish introduced.

- To regularly check and monitor to see how food wastage can be minimized

- Complete work in a timely manner

- Ensure all cooking procedures and efficient and economical

- Always wear proper uniforms with high grooming standards

- Ensure maintenance and protection of all operating equipment

- Be courteous to other kitchen staff members.

- All other duties as required by management

- Monitoring of stock and replacement orders.

Restaurant Manager Duties & Responsibilities -

The job duties and responsibilities are as follows but not limited to the following as employer may delegate additional duties.

- Coordinating daily restaurant management operations.

- Menu planning and pricing in coordination with Chefs.

- Setting budgets subject to senior management's review and approval.

- Controlling operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.

- Creating detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses.

- Continuously evaluate popularity of menus to ensure profitability.

- Organising marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes.

- Staff management, including hiring and training.

- Maintaining high levels of hygiene throughout the restaurant and enforce health and safety regulations.

- Ordering and purchasing food supplies and cooking equipment.

- Supervising and assigning cleaning and dishwashing tasks.

- Ensuring proper record keeping of stock and invoices/sales.

- Maintaining proper stock levels and facilitate new orders as necessary.

- Maintaining and update staff time rosters.

- Ensuring that excellent standards of customer service are upheld and address all customer complaints.

- Ensuring that other staff are upholding customer service standards.

- Keeping close communication with all staff, appraising staff performance and providing feedback to improve productivity.

- Managing bookings for large groups and special events.

- Use knowledge of organisational models to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the restaurant and of competitors' business to provide context for business strategy.

- Revising and implementing strategic plans in view of the restaurant's past performance.
