Cadbury World Café forms a vital part of our visitor experience. Our guests enjoy freshly baked items (sweet and savoury) and a range of specialty hot drinks. The café is open to the public as well as those completing our experience and runs daily till 4.30pm.

With a $7 million dollar investment in Cadbury World underway, we are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and customer focused people to join our growing team.

  • 40 hours per week Sunday - Thursday
  • Start rate $25.00 per hour

The successful candidate is responsible for the daily baking at the Cadbury World Café, including cabinet food and other elements as necessary. This role needs to support the unique Tourism Experience that is Cadbury World and help to bring that magic to life for every visitor.

Some of the key accountabilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):

  • Produce all items related to the menu in a high standard.
  • Cost all recipes and develop menu items as required and in consultation with Cadbury World Management.
  • Keep up to date and accurate records in compliance with Council regulations.
  • Ensure prep levels are adequate to cover days off and that all equipment and preparation surfaces in the kitchen are maintained to the highest hygiene standards at all times.
  • Keep wastage to a minimum and ensure that all wastage is being monitored and recorded.
  • Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerator or heating equipment and record appropriately according to regulations.
  • Ensure that all goods are stored following QHES standards and that stock rotation procedures are maintained and practiced.
  • Team supervision and rostering to ensure adequate cover is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure all team members are adequately trained and competent in all Kitchen processes and procedures.
  • Commitment to Health and Safety and leading the challenge to deliver Zero Harm work days.

Do you have what it takes?
  • At least 5 years’ baking experience
  • Have a proven record of managing staff
  • Customer service experience and knowledge of the hospitality industry, preferred
  • Food Safety qualifications in standards 167 and 168 along with good working knowledge of Dunedin City Council Food Safety Regulations
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Passion for the industry, enthusiastic and committed
  • Flexibility to commit to working one weekend day per week, as well as the ability to work school and public holidays is also essential
