Daikoku is a leading Japanese restaurant with 7 branches in New Zealand.
We require an experienced pastry chef for our team

Main Tasks
1. Ensure customers are satisfied with cooking
2. Monitore quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
3. Discuss food preparation issues with management
4. Demonstrate techniques and advise on all pastry and desserts, including Japanese sweets and Japanese cuisine procedures
5. Order food supplies and controll food stocks
6. Explain and enforce hygiene regulations
7. Train junior staff
8. Freeze and preserve foods
Any such duties as may be directed operations or related activities of the business from time to time.

Skills and Qualities Required
1. Experience in bakery is a plus
2. Culinary Qualifications is beneficial
3. Experience in Japanese desserts and pastries is an advantage
4. Minimum 2/3 year experience in a similar role
5. Effective communication skills and great interpersonal skills
6. Excellent organisation skills and time management
7. Leadership and teamwork skills
*Formal qualifications are not essential as relevant work experience is more important.

This is a permanent full time position. (over 35 hours per week), but your hours and days of work may vary, so applicants must be reasonably flexible with time.

A good wage will be offered, and reviews will be held as work skills improve.
