Solitaire Lodge is a 10 room - Full Service Lodge and is 20 minute's drive from Rotorua. Our Kitchen is well equipped and services up to 25 guests.
Cuisine is classic / contemporary. Lodge chef requirements include daily changing menu and leading standards of professionalism including best sourcing of ingredients and high quality presentation. Shifts include sole charge elements.
Our boutique operation offers the opportunity to express your creativity and contribute inspiring, fresh, seasonal dishes. Breakfast and lunch are a la carte while the evening consists of pre-dinner canapes and a 5 course menu. Focus is on quality and uniqueness, creating a memorable food journey daily.
Our guests are primarily international and as we operate in the luxury market, we ensure they have an exceptional culinary experience showcasing fine New Zealand dining. Working in an open kitchen gives you the added bonus of a lake view along with an opportunity to meet the guests directly.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an all-rounder, who relishes in the chance to create daily changing menus wearing all the Chef’s hats as patissier, saucier, larder, butcher, baker….. along with preparing guest-caught rainbow trout fresh from Lake Tarawera. We pride ourselves on our ‘lodge-made’ philosophy.
Work is based on a varied roster of morning or evening shifts.
