Are you a positive personality? An environmental enthusiast that would like to work in one of New Zealand’s most stunning landscapes? In the heart of Doubtful Sound our esteemed overnight vessel the Navigator is waiting for you to join the crew in sharing this pristine environment with people from all over the world!

We require crew members with a passion for people and the outdoors, who can maintain great service throughout the busy routine on board. Working a 7 day on 7 day off roster provides a unique opportunity to work and play hard in this beautiful part of Southern New Zealand. During your shift you will be based on board the vessel for 7 nights, with your own accommodation and all meals provided.

This could be the hardest job you'll ever love. Dedicated training prior to the start of the season enables you to get to know the job, the boat and most importantly the team of 10 you will be working and living with. After this training period your typical week on would start in Manapouri on Thursday morning. By 12.30pm the following Thursday you will be finished and back in Manapouri to make the most of your 7 days off.

Key responsibilities:
  • Assisting passengers
  • Preparing and serving meals and drinks
  • Servicing and cleaning rooms
  • Loading and unloading of supplies
  • Assisting with outdoor activities such as kayaking

Our crew work together on a full time, fixed term basis starting mid-August and finishing mid/late May 2019. On your days on you'll be working and living on the vessel with the rest of the crew including a Launch Master, Team Leader, Chef and Nature Guide.

We are looking for a strong team player who enjoys getting in and doing what's required to ensure the best experience for everyone on-board. In this role you will have the privilege to create some real memories and stories to tell your friends whilst experiencing Doubtful Sound in all its moods.
