A progressive forestry management company, Tasman Pine Forests has been set up by Sumitomo Forestry to manage their 36,000 hectares forest holding throughout the Nelson region. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and proactive HSE Sustainability Advisor to join the team.

Reporting to the General Manager this role is focused on co-ordinating the Company's health, safety, environmental requirements and creating more sustainable ways of operating.

Key responsibilities are ongoing management and monitoring of an industry specific HSE system including the activities of audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, reporting, environmental submissions and consent applications. As well as, liaising and building strong relationships with stakeholders including neighbours, Iwi and forest users including participating in public engagements and consultation.

A key part of this role is also monitoring sustainability of practices and introducing a range of new sustainability focused innovations into the operations.

With a proven HSE background you'll ideally have experience with forestry codes of practice. You will be experienced in stakeholder management, risk assessments and the relevant HSE legislation. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people.. Most of all you will be passionate about developing and managing an organisational culture committed to health, safety, the environment and sustainability.
