Sailthru's customers are among the largest e-commerce, publishing and media organizations worldwide. We build marketing software that empowers these brands to create cool experiences for their users across email, web and mobile.
We offer a unique opportunity in Wellington, working with a small team at a huge scale. We use data science to drive predictive marketing, and we're a technology team that:
? Is composed of small cross-functional teams with members from Product, UX, Engineering, Data Science, Ops, and more
? Solves challenges that make a real revenue impact for each one of our hundreds of customers
? Works in a leading-edge, technology-focused environment that embraces change
Your experience with a brand, whether in your inbox, browser, or on your phone should be just as warm and friendly as that with the person who runs your local store. Our vision is to personalise the experience a user has with a client's brand, so this experience is always valuable.
Sailthru is part of the CM Group, a fast-growing global family of marketing technologies. Our product HQ is in New York, and we have offices in LA, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, London, and Wellington. We welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences. We know that diversity is an important component of success, especially when building software for users from many backgrounds.
What are we looking for?
We want you to join our SRE team who are distributed between Wellington and New York. The following statements should resonate well with you:
You have experience with complied and scripting languages like Java, Bash, Python and Php. If you have experience with a comparable stack that is just as good.
You are a pragmatic engineer, with an attitude of using the right tool for the job rather than the flavour of the month.
You have experience with taking ownership and responsibility of systems. Your day to day development will be focused on performance, monitoring and bandwidth as opposed to new features.
You have proven experience with incident management. You are comfortable (dare we even say 'enjoy') investigating log files, and analysing CPU/memory usage for tasks or services.
You can prioritise effectively. When faced with a problem you weigh up the pros and cons of multiple solutions while acknowledging the potential complexities for scope and time.
You communicate well and have an ability to work with remote teams, and other talented functions within our business such as designers, product managers, data scientists, customer agents, and marketers.
You are a good collaborator and work well in a low-ego environment. By low-ego we mean everyone is open to input and feedback from anyone, regardless of seniority; and that we treat each other with respect.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
