Net Comms Ltd is Looking for Experienced Fibre Optic Service Technicians Covering Wide range of work areas.

This is only for motivated people who are interested in working on a project that will provide New Zealanders with access to the communications technology of the future. Successful candidates will be responsible for installing fibre connections to homes and business premises. This is a role that will allow you to develop new skills and gain experience in a rapidly growing industry, or apply existing skills and experience with a company who can offer career development within telecommunications Industry. While experience from a job where you have developed, physical or practical skills is advantageous, training for specific job tasks will be provided to candidates who demonstrate that they have the attitude and aptitude to succeed.

Requirements for the role/s are as follows:
UFB network design and installation.
Configuration & troubleshooting of optical network terminal on customer premises.
lnstallation of outlets and per-termination including organising, forming dressing and
labelling cables to industry standards.
lnspecting and testing the lines, recording and analyzing test result to assess for
locating the fault or malfunctions.
Planning, designing full installation of NGA fibre end to end services to business and
residential customer in compliance with laws and regulations and recommendations
in provisioning of telecommunications systems.
Connects wires and cables to terminals and attached/detaches various kinds of
hardware in buildings.
Mounting BUDDI (Distribution box), FTP (Fibre terminal box) and connecting to FAT
(Fibre access terminal and cabinet.
Accurately required to test copper and fibre (multimode and single mode) cable to
required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required.
Studying customer order plans, manuals and technical specifications, ordering and
gathering right equipment, tools and materials, accessing the installation site,
preparing the As-build diagrams.
Determine closet and equipment layouts and install closet hardware including
backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fibre enclosures.
Fibre optic fusion splicing at residential and commercial properties.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading
publications.
Maintain safe work environment by following codes, standards and legal regulations.
Maintains network by repairing outages, testing network backup procedure updating
documentations for that.
Attend training and safety meetings.
Work safely at all times utilizes necessary personal protection equipment.
Demonstrate safe working procedure to other technicians.
Serve as a liaison between office and field, communicating all information that is not
classified as confidential.
o Perform administration task including, but not limited to, documenting test results
and as-build's completing safety reports and customer consent forms etc.
o Use of tech mate software to test the status of fibre optic power levels, connectivity
between ONT to RGW.
o Programming and commissioning of end customer voice and internet data
equipment provided by regional service provider.
o Erecting, testing and maintaining aerial and underground network cables.
o Preparing LAN structure cables for end user as per order.

- Preference would be given to an individual who is qualified in any of following IT, Electronic, Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering or any engineering background.
