We require a patent secretary to work with a small friendly team in our well established practice.

Responsibilities will include: preparing and amending patent specifications on the instructions of professional staff, preparing correspondence to clients and intellectual property offices on instruction from professional staff, interacting with intellectual property offices and clients by way of email and web based portal and running a docketing system to ensure deadlines are not missed.

The successful applicant will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and an ability to function under deadline pressures. The ability to work with a team is essential.

Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Outlook is critical, while familiarity with Adobe Acrobat is also desirable. Specific experience with the Australian and New Zealand patent filing portals is preferred.

Applicants for this position should have New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
