To actively participate in all elements of organization within the food processing manufacturing including machinery set-up for automatic, semi-automatic and manual manufacturing/packaging of dry food packaging lines as well as regular maintenance/operations of these. Constant improvements of processing equipment and installation/commissioning of new equipment, with identification of strategic measures for process improvement.
Wimpex Ltd is large dairy and dry food export manufacturer with various complex machinery that are operated and maintained on daily basis.
Operate as an experienced leader/pack process manager of a specilized manufacturing team that is focused upon:
1. Ensuring quality of packaging, packaging equipment and machinery throughput targets are met or exceeded at all times, with possible zero incidences of rejected product.
2. Actively contributing to ensure all occupational Health and Safety and Food Safety requirements are met with equipment maintenance recorded as required in the various registers and any identified hazards are bought to the attention of the company director.
3. Maintaining high standards of hygiene and actively participating to ensure premises and equipment meet NZFSA/MPI hygiene export standards at all times
4. Supporting the production manager and technical manager in operation of the automated packaging equipment including; vertical form fill and seal, pouch packing, stick pack lines, 3-side seal, 4-side seal, bag in a box, canning and blending equipment as well as other equipment within the company.
5. Ensuring scheduled maintenance is undertaken for each piece of equipment in line with the instructions of the machinery manuals, production manager and necessary recordings made. To provide training to operators how to use and run company production equipment to be able to spread working load to other team members.
6. Participating to ensure the packaging processing facility meets agreed productivity and waste minimization targets as well as identifying opportunities for improvement. Constant improvement of equipment within company plant.
7. Help with carton making, unit packaging, labeling and coding, palletization and pallet wrapping
8. Supporting the team in recording and control of equipment, training and day to day cleaning process.
9. Help with blending of food items to the product specifications advised by the client
10. Contributing as a valued team member to ensuring the plant remains an efficient, vibrant, and enjoyable place to work.
11. Consulting directly with QA manager, QC staff as well as the directors about any suggestions for process and equipment improvements.
12. Undertake other duties as from time to time may be requested by the director or managers.

Job Requirements:
- minimum 2 years in dry foods manufacturing process enviroment
- minimum 2 years experiance in VFFS , HFFS and related equipment
- NZ qualification in food technology, processing or management - min level 7
- ability to make strategic decision(s) to avoid any process downtime or waste
- ability to work long hours if process requires ( up to 12 hours per day in same cases). Availability to work weekends and/or public holidays
- knowledge to organize, plan and perform in fast paced processing enviroment
- very high attention to detail, very high level of personal hygiene
- ability to plan, follow and improve H&S process and work environment
- team player, ability to cooperate with QC, QA, Tech and NPD departments, delivering good result.
- extensive knowledge of packaging processing machinery, related equpment and services.
