Located at our Wiri Bakery this senior position reports to the site Manufacturing Manager and is responsible to lead all manufacturing activities at the bakery in the efficient and timely manufacture of required products while maintaining a safe workplace and an environment of continuous improvement in support of the site leadership team

Key responsibilities for this role include:
  • Drive a safety focussed culture
  • Ensuring compliance with all GWF safety initiatives, policies, strategies and legal requirements
  • Continuous support and implementation of all quality and food safety management systems
  • Proactively implement process improvement initiatives for the plant
  • Lead, Coach and develop staff; providing regular constructive guidance, encouragement and feedback
  • Manage and motivate performance in terms of individual and group KPIs
  • Creating a strong working relationship with internal stakeholders to optimise business processes

The successful candidate will have an impeccable track record over at least the last 5 years in improving and driving production performance, preferably within a FMCG environment and; have and a thorough understanding of production management concepts. You will be an excellent communicator with a genuinely collaborative approach possess the ability to appreciate the wider business context while maintaining a robust understanding of the detail. Not being afraid to be hands on, you will have effective negotiation skills, communicate with precision and your collaborative approach will enable you to positively influence all levels of the business.

Further desired skills and attributes:
  • Minimum 5 years in a management role preferably gained within manufacturing functions of an FMCG environment
  • Demonstrated successful leadership capability
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma, TPM, TQM and other operational Measurement systems
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Thorough knowledge of HACCP policies and procedures
  • SAP Knowledge
