We are looking for a person that can co-ordinate our dispatch area. This role is a physical, hands-on role in a busy area of the business. Accuracy, attention to detail, planning, organisation, and communication are all essential skills for this role.

Mike’s Woodshop Ltd specialize in manufacturing educational and office furniture to a very high standard, using the best quality hardware and components, Mike’s Woodshop provides furniture to all of New Zealand from our modern purpose built factory in Whangarei.

Your role will include:
•Assembling Tables and Chairs ready for shipping
•Using a steel cut off saw to re-size table frames to the appropriate heights
•Wrapping and packaging tables and chairs
•Making sure that other team members have jobs in front of them
•Coordinating all the furniture to be shipped
•Writing up all the waybills and booking the freight in to be picked up and delivered
•Helping the truck drivers to load the trucks
•Being able to multi task is a must
•Must have the skills to ensure everything is checked, colours, heights, sizes etc
•Ensuring that when orders are shipped that everything is ready.
•Be safety conscious and be able to uphold our Health & Safety standards.

To apply for this position you must:
•Have a reasonable level of physical fitness as there is heavy lifting and prolonged standing required.
•Have a current, Clean NZ drivers licence
•Be good with measurements
•Be able to co-ordinate with other staff members
•Confidence using computers accurately and efficiently.
•Excellent organisational and communication skills
•Manage tight timeframes and pressure to deliver positive outcomes
•Have a good understanding of NZ Geography.
•Be positive and willing to learn
•Know how to pay attention to detail
•Must be able to speak excellent English.

This position is a hands on roll, you need to be the type of person who can manage work, delegate where needed and lead by example, getting stuck in and working as a team.

Full training will be provided to the correct applicant.

The following licences, or certifications could be advantageous but not essential:
•MPI Accredited person
•Truck licence
•Forklift licence
•First aid.

This is a permanent, full time role working Monday to Friday and at present is a 45 hours per week roll. Hours are 6.30am to 4pm.

This is a smoke and drug free workplace and any successful applicants may be required to undergo pre-employment testing.
