CORRECTIONS OFFICERS - Immediate need for male Corrections Officers!

At Corrections, our Frontline staff are the foundation of our work. They come from all walks of life, bringing a wide range of attributes and life experiences with them, but they share the genuine belief that people can change. They understand that small, daily interactions can role model positive behaviours to our offenders, and take community safety seriously.

Our Corrections Officers tell us the great part of their job is working in a close knit team, the sense of whanau that comes from a team of people who want to change lives. Corrections Officers serve the public by maintaining safety and security within a prison. They motivate and encourage prisoners to attend rehabilitation programmes, training and work. It’s more challenging, more interesting and more rewarding than you can imagine.

Being a Corrections Officer means you will work in shifts, wear a uniform and protective gear like stab resistant body armour. You’ll need to be fit, have a clean police check and have a medical and drug test done before an offer of employment is made. You’ll also need a clean full driver licence and a first aid certificate.

Safety is our number one priority, so the training is intensive and starts from day one. You’ll need to be ‘up for it’ as we put you through your paces to make sure you have what it takes to work face to face with our offenders.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
