The Media & Communications team at New Zealand Police play an important role in telling stories and communicating to the public and staff about what our Police are doing. Our design and brand is a key part of that.

We have a great opportunity within Media & Communications for an Intermediate level Graphic Designer to join the team for 12 months to help contribute to a wide range of design, marketing, and branding work that helps contribute to New Zealand Police's mission to make New Zealand the safest country, and contribute to building trust and confidence in New Zealand Police.

We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude, and a real desire to help contribute to making difference. There will also be a lot of variety in the work you do so if juggling multiple tasks, priorities, and timeframes at any given time is something that you enjoy doing then keep reading!

The role will support brand, marketing, and design needs for many areas of the organisation within Media & Communications and for Police National Headquarters, as well as supporting the Police districts around the country.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • A tertiary graphic design qualification with 1-2 years' experience
  • Intermediate level skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • An ability to juggle different priorities and jobs at any one time
  • A good understanding of branding and the importance of brand standards
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • A sound Knowledge of the print process and working with print management companies
