The Nelson Women's Centre/Te Whare Awhina mo nga wahine puawai provides a wide range of services including social worker support for women and their families, counselling, workshops and social events, and a safe and welcoming women-only place for all women to use. We are passionate about what we do, and central to this is the role of the Coordinator, who acts as a lynchpin to ensure that the Centre succeeds in its goal of empowering women to be safe, resourceful, to value themselves and reach their potential. 

This is a permanent role (30 hours per week) which provides an opportunity to make a difference for the lives of women across our community (the Centre is a women-only place for all women to use).

Essential skills and qualities to deliver this role include:

Living and working with feminist values as an advocate for women in the Nelson/Tasman region

Working with an ethos of collaboration and partnership, and implementing the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Being able to take a leadership role in a busy client-focused environment, working with staff and volunteers and liaising with the governing collective

Having sound budgetary, fundraising and financial management experience

Being computer literate to a good level
