Co-Facilitate our youth help personal development workshops, Standing Tall and unity to college age youth as identified, also Emerging heroes or Change agents to Intermediate age youth as identified
Providing the youth attending with the resources and tools allowing them to reach their full potential, including building confidence, leadership and communication skills. Build self-worth and life skills and develop strategies to make positive changes and choices in their life.
Gain participation and input from the youth, allowing for peer to peer discussion problem solving with positive youth interaction
Provide a link between young people attending their school and social services, also arrange referrals to the appropriate services as deemed necessary and advocate on behalf of young people in this instance if required, also Family/Whanau Consultation when seen necessary
Individual youth help
Youth attending who may need one to one personal help interaction with you the youth worker / counsellor you will help the youth find their answer and help them to identify other services they may need to help address their issue or concern, whether it be referral to an external agency the school or school counsellor or to our counsellor and or psychologist
Liaise with youth in the community, schools local police and youth groups and other youth community organisations around problems in their communities and any current and new youth issues they are facing,
Planning evaluation and reports
Plan, deliver, and evaluate Interactive Workshops complete necessary paper work associated with attendees re PHO requirements etc. write reports on workshop outcomes to the manager at end of each programme
Inform and evaluate
Attend weekly meetings with the manager to talk about discuss and learn from each course or youth interaction, at the same time allow peer to peer discussion with your fellow facilitator to ensure growth in your abilities and strength of content presented to youth.
Be available to work in the Youth Chat Van promoting Youthline CNI and being available for mentoring youth in need 1 to 1 at schools youth zones and occasional weekend events where youth may be in attendance.
Promote youth development and youth participation in communities Provide support, information, and resources to young people in their communities our 0800 cards brochures and posters also to other youth organizations, schools and community groups
Attend community events youth zones/ spaces sports events, gala days or other community events where youth may be in attendance to be able to connect with and inform provide information, resources and knowledge of Youthline CNI its services and providing youth with a link between youth or other social services and arrange referrals to any service deemed appropriate for their need.
Develop community networks with other youth and family/whanau group’s also key ethnic and cultural groups relevant to Youthline CNI in the communities we work in, Build and maintain effective networks with iwi/hapu and Maori and Pacifica as well as other ethnic groups.
Seek opportunities to promote positive youth development to schools, local community organizations, youth organizations, local authorities, businesses, Maori and Pacifica
Be active in the community and through Youthline fundraisers/volunteering and community run events.
Ensure High professional standards are being kept with outside organisations adhering to Youth worker standings.
Report on the achievements of your work verbally to the manager at least weekly
Maintain accurate up to date records of attendees, content, outcomes, problems etc.
Establish (where necessary) and maintain electronic and physical filing systems and other administrative tasks as required
Provide regular, accurate written reports to the manager at the end of each
Health and Safety
Maintain a clean, tidy, healthy and safe working environment
Report accidents, incidents, near misses and any health and safety hazards or concerns immediately to the Youthline CNI Manager as well as the schools you were working in.
If applicable, participate in health and safety training and any improvement or return to work Interactive Workshops
Participate in trainings that are run that you are required to attend
Attend Supervision sessions
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
