Unicef NZ is looking for an experienced child advocate, kaiwhakahau o nga tamariki to join our team. Our Kaiwhakahau will have a passion working on the issues that impact tamariki, rangatahi and whanau in Aotearoa.
Kaiwhakahau o nga Tamariki is a new position and reflects the Unicef commitment to Aotearoa NZ doing better for Tamariki Maori.
Working within the Child Rights team you will have a critical role to raise the voices of tamariki, rangatahi and whanau in areas such as policy development, our annual survey Te Hiringa Tamariki and in the global context on the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
You will have an interest in the Convention on the Rights of Indigenous People and work across these two conventions to bring tamariki and rangatahi perspective.
As well as face to face engagement you’ll understand the world of connecting with young people through digital and social media platforms.
Engaging with Iwi, Hapu and Whanau is something you know well.
You will very likely have a bachelor or master’s degree in a social sciences field.
