We are looking for Store Manager, the successful applicant should have:
  • Recognised Diploma in Business/Management.
  • Liquor Controller Qualification (LCQ) Certificate. 
  • General Manager’s (GM) Certificate.
  • Two years’ experience in Supervision/Management role.
  • One year experience in the Retail Liquor industry.
  • Ability to work weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities as per the Job Description below:
  • Operating and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency of the liquor store.
  • Controlling inventory levels through ordering stock, and doing daily and spot inventory checks
and making key decisions about stock control.
  • Ensure correct receiving and stocking of merchandise and placing correct codes on stock.
  • Enter invoices into computer and make price changes as needed.
  • Ensure that the inventory, sales, payments and banking match accordingly by managing the
day-to–day banking and accounts of the store
  • Deal with the vendors and sales people to order for various drinks and other goods
  • Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and
departmental sales records
  • Accounts payable and receivable duties. Responding the queries regarding accounts.
  • Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determine the need for sales
promotions and authorize clearance sales.
  • Supervise and direct the sale of liquor, wine, beer, mixes and goods to customers and
responding to Customer complaints and comments.
  • Assist customers by advising on brands, container sizes, prices and check IDs. Deal with
intoxicated individuals and those attempting to obtain liquor illegally.
  • Monitor store traffic to minimize losses using security systems and deal with problematic
customers, as and when necessary.

  • Initiating changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can
compete effectively in the local market.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, managing employees and allocating shifts
  • Maintain staff performance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and planning,
monitoring, and appraising staff performance results
  • Update myself with knowledge and awareness of Council and State Liquor Act and Regulations
and good knowledge of liquor and wine varieties and uses
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and licensing laws of NZ.
