We need an experienced Manager for our busy Dunedin store.

The owners will not be involved in the business, and you will have full responsibility for managing all aspects of the business.

This includes:

• Deciding on product mix, stock levels and service standards
• Dealing with suppliers and negotiating equipment, supply and delivery arrangements
• Maintaining records of stock level and orders
• Checking invoices and delivery dockets
• Setting the price on the stock, display and ticketing
• Budget and monitor costs to ensure shop profitability
• Dealing with sales, maintaining financial transactions and liaising with company accountant as required.
• Marketing and promotion of the business to further develop local business and also to take advantage of any passing traffic
• Arranging and pricing special promotions, displays and events
• Selection/ hiring/ supervision/ training of permanent and casual staff ensuring they are familiar with all aspects of their job and carrying out their responsibilities properly
• Ensuring store security and proper training of staff in any required food, hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Ensure correct following of Sale of Liquor and Tobacco procedures
• Handling transaction records on daily basis and monitoring staff performance
• Dealing with customer queries and complaints as when needed
• Refining and improving the business to respond to customer feedback
• Any other duties when applicable for smooth running of the business
• General upkeep of all areas around the shop, personal safety of the staff
You must be able to work variable hours and weekends according to a flexible schedule to suit the company requirement. Store opening hours range from 9am opening to 7:00pm closing, with different hours on different days of the week.

You must also have:

• Relevant tertiary business qualifications or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in a Management or Supervisory role in the Retail industry
• A full clean driver’s licence
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent computer, POS and stock control system skills
• Be reliable, organised and efficient
• An excellent customer focus and high standards
• Ability to maintain retail premises to a high standard

You must be able to pass a drugs test.
