Karcher is a global leader of cleaning solutions and is renowned for its innovation, quality and performance. We require a motivated, self-managing Wellington-based Territory Representative to further grow our product portfolio in the Wellington, lower North Island and upper South Island retail sector. Your territory will include the Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Wellington, Nelson and Marlborough. Karcher is a highly successful company and has a supportive and passionate team to back this up. The territory has been proactively managed so there are already well-established and strong relationships in place.

The role primarily involves:

  • Promoting our range of cleaning solutions and equipment to merchants and their customers reinforcing how Karcher “makes a difference”
  • Maximising the sales and distribution opportunities within the channel
  • Further developing the existing distributor base whilst targeting new business opportunities
  • Building strong relationships with merchants that lead to strong support and long term partnerships
  • Proactively marketing products in line with promotional plans including coordinating sales and marketing activity in your territory
  • Provide product training and equipment demonstrations, adding value to our customers in the process
  • Assisting with merchandising and instore POS activity
  • Some weekend and after-hours work may be required for demonstrations

You will need to have:

  • A background of selling in to the retail channel with a minimum of 3 years on-road experience, preferably in an autonomous role
  • An outgoing and affable personality with a successful sales track record and a structured approach to call planning
  • A self-motivated, proactive approach and thrive on identifying and seizing opportunities
  • Effective time and territory management skills
  • A confident and effective communication style with the ability to forge good relationships with all customer groups
  • MUST be customer-centric and prepared to go the extra mile time and time again
  • A full, clean driver’s license
  • The flexibility to travel up to 8 nights per 6-weekly call cycle
  • Open to experience within any industry but FMCG is a good transferable background
