The Role

Ixom's Process Cleaning Technologies (PCT) business supplies critical hygiene chemicals and services to the dairy, food and beverage manufacturing industries. We are looking for an experienced, proactive Technical Account Manager to provide responsive enterprise-level account management and technical know-how, along with value-creating service to our customers.

As someone with a broad understanding of the processes in dairy, food and beverage industries, you understand how critical hygiene management is in this environment. Your technical experience and education has enabled you to understand and engage with customers on technical details and requirements around chemicals and hygiene services, whilst providing accurate and timely solutions to your accounts.

Working alongside your customers, you will conduct audits, provide troubleshooting support and testing, and proactively identify innovative hygiene solutions and productivity improvements to customer sites, while you deliver value and strengthen business partnerships within your allocated patch.

As a Technical Account Manager, you will work autonomously and responsively to obtain sound insights into customer needs, enabling you to provide solutions to key customers through Ixom's broad range of specialist materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular and on-going technical services and support for customers
  • Advocate the safe and effective use of IXOM products at customer sites, including the provision of regular on-site training
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and champion value delivery projects at customer sites, to reduce overall cost of operation
  • Run technical trials at customer sites as required, to support and improve hygiene processes or introduce new products and technologies
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to customers on chemical usage, projects and site activities
  • Facilitate the introduction of new innovations and technologies, aimed at delivering value for customers
  • Identify and develop new customer/business opportunities within allocated territory

Experience

  • Solid technical background in dairy/food processing, with hands on experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Tertiary qualification in Food, Engineering, Science, Microbiology or Chemistry
  • Knowledge of CIP operations and technical competency with PCT products
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills and computer literacy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and report writing
  • Needs based selling, negotiation and decision making
  • Able to pick up new technical information quickly
  • Proactive and results driven; self-starter and self-motivated
  • Customer or Account Management experience, with a proven ability to deliver results (advantageous)
