The role of the ICT Sales Representative is to increase the sales of telecommunication products and services within the residential consumer market by demonstrating a sound knowledge and understanding of the available products and services. The role requires technical expertise and the ability to convert customer requirements to technical specifications to provide support on sales statistics including work flow management and figures to help demonstrate sales and customer support activity.
Technical sales tasks:
Identify research and resolve customer issues using the computer.
Assisting customers with technical set up, such as setting up mobile phones and internet.
Provisioning Broadband, Voice, Mobile, IP services to new residential customers.
Understanding of mobile phone technology and ability to explain this information to customer in order to secure potential issues.
Sound product knowledge of broadband plans, calling features, ISDN Lines, Gateway and promotion pricing plans and new products.
Keeping up-to-date with new products, applications development software and general information technology trends.
Cold Calling, focusing on customer sales and reviewing existing client’s telecommunications needs.
Sales of telecommunication and internet products and services.
Understanding how to position highly technical information in a manner that is understandable to the customer.
Work with the software (CRM) to ensure the customer queries and details are captured for software quality assurance.
Answer any ICT related queries of the customers – may include setting up of a router /design networks/wireless signal.
Project Management of daily, weekly and monthly IT sales.
Assist the customers with technical set up – such as setting up of internet that may include router/wireless signals.
Up selling of product range, special and promotions.
Communicate clear and concise information to customer regarding terms and conditions changes and services.
Any other task assigned by the manager.
Use the ICT resources of the company in the way and are not wasted.
Understand the requirements of the customers for hardware and software including routers, networking products, operating systems ,androids ,laptops etc .
Make sure the customers are happy and meet their requirements.
Experience and qualification
Familiarity on running an escalation and creation of formal complaint.
Demonstrating understanding of software and applications.
Understanding of mobile technology.
Tertiary qualification in IT or computing is essential.
Experience with door to door sales would be ideal.

Demonstrated in – depth knowledge of ICT, Mobility, web based applications and software.
Demonstrated knowledge of services and products relevant to the ICT technical sales area within telecommunications.
Excellent sales and consumer service skills.
Clear understanding and articulate communication style.
Highly developed listening and interpersonal skills.
Highly literate in relation to mobile phone technology and computer software.
Demonstrated ability to explain complex processes and information.
Strong negotiations skills and services based values.
Awareness of and respect for, cultural differences in regard to communication and interpersonal style.
Advance skills in windows OS, Excel and analytical software too.
