Hill Laboratories are New Zealand's largest privately owned analytical laboratory. With laboratories across New Zealand, we use the latest technology to supply a broad range of laboratory tests to domestic and international markets in three testing areas: Agriculture, Environmental and Food.

We have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join the Waters General team in a permanent role within the Environmental sector.

This role will be quite varied including sample registration and disposal, preparing water samples for all instrument analysis (digestion and distillation methods + pouring and reagent prep) and conducting routine bench tests including OAG, BOD, COD, Fluoride and miscellaneous bench tests.

The candidate will ideally have the following attributes:
•Tertiary qualification in Science
•Ideally at least one year of previous workplace laboratory experience
•Effective team player and able to create a good working relationship with other staff in the team
•Effective time management and organisational skills
•Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and with agility and flexibility with the team roster
•Self-discipline with proven ability to follow set procedures and take the initiative when necessary
•Good attention to detail and takes pride in quality of work
•Good analytical and mathematical skills

Hours of work will be 40 hours/ week as per a roster. The current roster in in the team covers the working hours of Monday to Friday 6am to 8.30pm and Saturday and Sunday 7am to 4.30pm.

This permanent role may include weekend work.

Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
