Full Job Description
Our client is a very well established New Zealand company that is a market leader in the FMCG Food industry. Their plant in New Plymouth produces high quality food at large volumes and high speed. To retain the efficient output of quality food products the plant needs to be kept running and regular preventative maintenance needs to be done.

As part of the large Maintenance team, the Electrical Technicians will work as part of a well skilled team who do electrical faultfinding of the highly automated plant production machinery, preventative maintenance, and electrical upgrades to increase both reliability and efficiency.

There are multiple positions available, both 4 on 4 off rotating shifts and fixed hourly day shifts with a range of possible working hours.

This could suit someone who has strong electrical aptitude, has strong fault-finding skills and experience working in Plants such as FMCG, Manufacturing, Steel, Mining, or Pulp & Paper. You will need to be trade-qualified and a Registered Electrician. These positions encompass responsibility for electrical maintenance of a broad range of equipment and processes throughout the facility.

Key to our client's strategic goals are people with most or all of the following skills:

  • Qualified Electrician with full EWRB registration and current practicing license
  • Industrial Maintenance experience on a range of manufacturing equipment
  • Food/Manufacturing/FMCG industry experience
  • Experience working on VSD's, conveyor belts, pumps, and equipment safety systems
  • Good understanding of Maintenance and Reliability Systems
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Team player
  • Familiar with preventative maintenance and reliability scheduling systems
  • Sound fault finding/problem solving experience i.e. with PLC's, HMI's
  • A commitment to quality and safe working practices
