Downer New Zealand is the largest private sector water services provider in New Zealand, and has recently secured the Taupo District Council 3 Waters Maintenance Contract, covering the beautiful and exciting adventure playground in the heart of New Zealand’s North Island. The Taupo District is an extraordinary place to live, work and raise a family and we are looking for a water serviceperson to support us in the delivery of this contract.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high performing team carrying out maintenance and construction activities across the District. Reporting to the Contract Supervisor you will be required to respond to service requests, perform planned maintenance and construction projects across water, wastewater, stormwater and pump station assets. This will include after hours call out works to respond to faults across the District. With no two days being the same, this will be a great chance to use your existing skills across a range of disciplines while developing new expertise at the same time.

About you:

Totally committed to working safely
Experience in water, wastewater, stormwater, road construction or civil infrastructure projects
Relevant engineering, mechanical, water or trade qualifications
Full Class 2 licence (WTR an advantage)
Self-motivated, energetic and proactive with a can do attitude
Computer literacy
Keen and willing to learn, a team player
Adaptable with great problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills and customer focus
