Mt Iron Joinery is an established joinery manufacturer in Wanaka. Due to sustained growth and a Wanaka boom Factory Manager / Foreman role is available in our large, modern, tidy and safe factory.

We cater to the predominantly higher end residential kitchen and joinery market where discerning clients expect high quality joinery and extremely high quality customer service.

The advertised position will assign full responsibility of factory management to the successful applicant. Initially focus will be on factory productivity and quality with a degree of interaction with the front office designers to ensure all work is completed in a satisfactory manner on time and within budget. As the role develops more design and computer based work (CAD based using Microvellum) will be required. Full training given.

***Specific Responsibilities***
Management of the the factory, its staff and plant with specific focus on:

Working closely with the designer, estimator and purchaser to ensure accurate and sensible product choices are made.

Completing joinery work as required with regard to personal workload as well as overseeing and guiding our extremely competent team that may require it.

Leading factory Health and Safety procedures by being aware of and proactive about worksafe requirements to ensure everyone remains safe at work.

Manufacturing joinery and actively overseeing junior staff to ensure standard procedures are followed.

Overseeing the safe and tidy installation of joinery and actively being aware of and proactive about SITE safety.

Running the workshop and keeping standards high - including programmed maintennance

Assisting in the design of solutions to one off joinery problems

Site visits to measure and template

Visiting Customers on site as required

Project related work as assigned from time to time.

CAD and CNC work as familiarity grows.

Qualified Joiner 5 years minimum with high standards and proven expertise

Experience managing a workshop preferred

Team player / team builder with leadership capability

Some CAD and CNC experience beneficial

Good customer service skills
