Part Time

Do you have the people skills, enthusiasm and practical trade know-how to become a Community Work Supervisor with the Community Probation Services?

Our Community Work Supervisors run work projects for offenders sentenced to community work.

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time, permanent Community Work Supervisor to join our team in Tauranga working on Saturday.

Our projects include:
  • cleaning beaches, community parks and bushwalk tracks
  • assisting food banks, schools and working at local Maraeā€™s
  • working with the local council and community groups with activities such as removal of graffiti.

Time management and supervisory skills are put to the test to balance group productivity while ensuring everyone is kept in sight as you manage up to 10 offenders each day.

A Community Work Supervisor requires the ability to make sound decisions and solve problems while leading and managing people from different backgrounds and cultures. Your demeanour has to be firm yet fair, humble yet authoritative and you need to be able to adapt and relate well to all walks of life in order to establish a level of trust and respect.

Your safety and the safety of others is vital and should always be managed effectively. Learning to listen is the key to mentoring people and encouraging positive contributions to society.

A full NZ driver licence including the ability to drive a manual vehicle is essential and a current First Aid certificate will be required. If you do not have a full licence your application will not be considered.

If you can relate and communicate well to a wide range of people, organise, control group and manage projects with a focus on motivating your work party then do not hesitate and apply today!

Applications close Sunday 17 June 2018.
