We're looking for an experienced National Fleet Manager. This position is an interesting, challenging and diverse role and an excellent career development opportunity.

This is a key role in our organisation, and whilst our preference is that the successful applicant is based at our Support Office in Otahuhu, Auckland, we would consider applicants who reside within the Auckland - Hamilton - Tauranga triangle.

The role has ultimate responsibility for ensuring risk is managed, innovation is explored and sought constantly, and that reporting requirements on fleet maintenance and development are met and maintained.

We have a significant fleet of company vehicles, trucks, trailers, loaders and other related mobile plant to deliver our services. If you have experience in this area, we would be very keen to hear from you.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Monitoring of company fleet, nationwide
  • Effective asset management which includes programming and replacement
  • Effective cost management of maintenance budget
  • Maintenance systems management
  • Ensuring operational compliance, in coordination with Compliance Team
  • Driver recruitment, training, and monitoring
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers and service agents

You'll have the following attributes and experience:

  • Minimum 2yrs management experience in transport and logistics environment
  • Commercial experience and successful P&L credibility and track record
  • Mechanical aptitude and previous experience in managing the operations and maintenance of assets
  • Strong compliance experience and understanding, and excellent track record in Health and Safety outcomes
  • Business improvement and project/operations management experience Flexibility - working varied hours and some weekends and public holidays may be required in this role (peak period)
  • Excellent communication skills, both with customers and work colleagues
  • Must be structured and able to develop and report against agreed programmes
  • Efficient, reliable and able to work autonomously
