The role:

The primary focus of this role is to ensure that fleet is serviced and maintained.

Your key tasks will include:

  • To lead and manage the service teams to ensure effective and efficient operation
  • Ensuring that preventative maintenance is completed and current fleet meets Quality Assurance Standards
  • Responsible for Auckland and Wellington Service centres
  • Ensuring Servicing of vehicles is carried out as per manufacturer's specifications and at the appropriate mileage intervals.
  • Responsible for all costs within the 2 North Island Service Centres
  • Provide breakdown assistance and response, as part of the 24 hour breakdown service team.
  • Liaising with our North Island locations on preventive maintenance, servicing and general support.
  • Vehicle Additions - prepared and ready for rent to meet the demands of the business.
  • Vehicle Deletions - leading and overseeing the preparation of vehicles for deletion.
  • Ordering, training and maintenance of ski racks and chains for ski season.
  • Carry out minor repairs to fleet where applicable
  • Ensure all plant is maintained to required standards and meets OSH requirements
  • Fully comply with the company Health and Safety requirements including, reporting all accidents, near accidents and hazards
  • Responsibility for keeping workshops clean and free from potential hazards and OSH compliant.


  • Proven leadership and staff management experience
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Initiative and ability to think ahead and plan
  • Working knowledge of OSH and EEO would be an advantage
  • Experience with automotive repairs/servicing an advantage but not essential.
