MetroBox is part of The Specialised Group, a New Zealand owner operated group of companies that provide container support services to shipping lines. We work hard to be the best, we give it our all and we take pride in what we do. We know we're only as good as our people, and right now we need more good people like you.

Are you interested in working outdoors? Are you motivated to strive towards targets? Then this could be a bit of you - carrying out inspections and assessments on shipping containers at our busy container depot in Otahuhu, Auckland.

This position involves surveying shipping containers for damage and assessing repair requirements to meet industry standards in a systematic, cost effective and efficient way to meet operational timelines.

Your high attention to detail will ensure all inspections are carried out with the greatest accuracy possible, and your fantastic organisational and time management skills will ensure you meet and exceed depot timeframes and targets. We need somebody with a sharp, methodical mind that can generate repair estimates efficiently against the appropriate industry standards.

Some knowledge of computer systems or technology would be useful in operating our handheld IT systems, however the successful applicant will be fully trained in all aspects of surveying and assessing. The opportunity to receive the internationally recognised IICL qualification will also be available.

Ideally you will have some knowledge of the shipping industry, but it will be your drive to succeed, enthusiasm and ability to learn quickly that will stand you out from the crowd!

Hours of work will be between 7.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday, and 7.00am and 12.00pm Saturday. More overtime will be available for those who want it.
