This auction is for this original Otto Larsen 7 piece dining suite consisting of 6 x chairs and the original round pedestal dining table.

Designed and made in New Zealand: Otto Larsen.

Otto Larsen is Danish and came to NZ on November 6th, 1958 to give us real ‘Danish’ designed furniture.

He was quite prolific, producing this exact design in Denmark & the UK as well. His designs feature trademark joinery and he can be recognised by his branded ‘Otto Larsen Ltd’ mark. He was a true Modernism local hero who still appreciates design.

Contrary to popular belief, OTTO LARSEN was not a fictitious name (like JON JANSEN) created by a local firm to cash in on the 60’s craze for Scandinavian modern furniture. He was a Danish immigrant to NZ in the 1950s who designed & crafted a wonderful range of mahogany furniture that was distinctively Danish modern in style.

6 x original chairs=76 cm high by 48 cm wide by 50 cm deep.

Table=135 cm wide by 135 cm deep by 73 cm high.

Original condition 7/10, this set is unrestored and 2 of the seat bases have cracked o the underside. these could be replaced with ply seat bases to make them stronger.

Buyer can collect from Pack and Send in Takapuna or the item can be freighted nationwide at buyers' cost.
