Mercedes W202 Cooling Fan Visco Clutch 1112000322 1112000422 8MV376733011
Description
BEHR HELLA SERVICE 8MV 376 733-011
Part Details Diameter [mm]: 160
Fan Clutch Coupling Fan clutch is a coupling device that sits between the water pump and the fan, allowing the fan to operate at lower speeds thus improving the efficiency of the cooling system. It is the fan that creates most of the airflow; the forward motion of the vehicle does not produce much flow. Without this airflow, the radiator is ineffective. Most fan clutch couplings are fluid, or viscous, couplings, filled with a silicone based oil. Over time, this oil can deteriorate, and cause slippage and failure of the fan, diagnosed by the fan making a loud noise, especially at speeds. It is, therefore, important to replace this coupling device when you replace the water pump, as they wear at about the same rate.
Run Auto Parts sell quality couplings separately, and they are also included in our cooling system kits.
