4 door Sportback. Drives Mint. I’ve had it a few years, loved owning it. Quiet, light (all aircraft grade aluminum so no rust, strong), low Centre of Gravity. The all wheel drive Quattro transfers power efficiently, pulling you around the tightest corners As quick as the heavier S5. Paddle shift is delightful when needed.
Maintained exceptionally by the Audi service agents (Continental Car Services). I always request an upgrade to Mobil 1 or Castrol Edge full synthetic oil, and always run on 98 octane fuel which delivers outstanding economy of under 7L per 100km (unless I get a bit excited).
Recent new battery, Tyres (Quality Euro tyres) & a couple of years ago I had the DSG transmission Mecatronics unit replaced by CCS (circa $7k), which is the Achilles heel of these Audi’s. Should be great for another 6 years and another 150,000kms.
The Autosure extreme mechanical insurance policy Audi sold me recently was the most comprehensive available, covering even consumables, freight, and towing. Never a hidden suprise ever, if you have a claim. The next items to be replaced in 6-12 months is one of the engine mounts which I’m told looks like it could be weeping a little, and the steering rack which could be the same. Both are covered by the warranty, so will cost only the $350 excess on each of these claims when it comes time to do them. You can chip these cars to breathe even more life into them, but I’ve already lost my Licence once since owning it, innocently overtaking before realizing I’m doing 140kph in a manner of seconds, right at the end of a passing lane where the cops sit. I certainly do not need any more power.
LED driving lights and the active HID headlights (adjusts range with speed), convenience lights under doors etc, dual zone climate control, cruise control, Bluetooth phone pairing, all the features one could think of really!
I’m working for a carbon offset co, so I’m forced to drive a company Leaf. I will miss driving the Audi on my weekly trips to Rotorua. Non smoker, windows treated with RainX Please click here to ask a question
