Volvo S40 T 1998

Have owned this car for over 2 years now and has been a great little car to drive. Has the low-compression turbo so not a handful to drive in the wet, also has an automatic transmission with quick-shift and winter driving modes, sports suspension and ABS. Has been regularly maintained since I bought it, cambelt and water pump changed at 215k, pads and rotors changed, ignition coil and various little things expected of a 20 year-old car. Has one original key plus a new one which has been reprogrammed by Armstrong Prestige.The downside is the paint on the flat surfaces had suffered from the usual clearcoat sunburn and peeled, but I sanded it all off and sprayed a couple of cans of touch-up on it and it has what can kindly be described as a "satin" finish (see pics) Drivers seat has been torn but doesn't effect WOF, rest of the interior is pretty good except where a previous owner had put speaker leads on the windscreen pillars and the glue for the fabric has perished it's gotten a bit floppy. Some other minor problems are the central locking on the right rear passenger door sometimes won't unlock then comes right after a week. Aircon works great, car also has heated door mirrors which is great in WInter and also dash lights come on themselves in gloomy weather. Only reason for selling is I want a change, either a sporty coupe or larger sedan. If unsold will just continue fixing it up for another year and probably fall in love with it again and keep it. These are the result of a joint venture between Volvo and Mitsubishi so Evo Lancer brakes, suspension and even running gear will bolt straight in, a popular mod in Europe I'm told. Uses a little bit of oil on trips but I note topping it up every month with 100-200ml of 10w-40 and it's fine, has done 7-8 daytrips to Invercargill and Central Otago without any probs, never runs hot and starts first pop when cold. Comes with receipts for all major work, Haynes manual, and an original UK market Volvo S40 brochure in excellent condition.
