On the way to the hotel, their bus crashes during a storm and the driver is killed and Joan injured. Dr. Verdegast suggests seeking refuge in Hjalmar Poelzig's house, an old acquaintance of his. Unbeknownst to Peter and Joan, Dr. Verdegast is seeking revenge for the death of his wife and for the slaughter of Poelzig's entire army when it was sacrified to Satan by Poelzig's own dark priest. Verdegast discovers Poelzig's plans for Joan, the same plans that killed his own wife. To save her, Verdegast must beat him in a game of chess. The Raven - 1963Retired sorcerer Dr. Craven is visited by a talking raven, who was, before becoming the object of the evil wizard Dr. Scarabus' wrath, a cowardly fool of a magician called Belbo. In convincing Dr. Craven to change him back he tells him he saw Dr. Craven's long-lost wife Lenore in Scarabus' castle. Craven, still mourning her supposed death, springs to action and the two return to face Scarabus in a tremendous and terrible battle of Magic might. The Mummy - 1932In 1921 a field expedition in Egypt discovers the mummy of ancient Egyptian prince Im-Ho-Tep, who was condemned and buried alive for sacrilege. Also found in the tomb is the Scroll of Thoth, which can bring the dead back to life. One night a young member of the expedition reads the Scroll out loud and brings Im-Ho-Tep back to life, going insane as a result of his thoughtless conjuring. Ten years later, disguised as a modern Egyptian, the mummy attempts to reunite with his lost love, an ancient princess who has been reincarnated in the form of a beautiful young woman, Helen Grosvenor.|
