Columbus was playing his first solo gig Auckland in front of a star studded audience, less than a week after The Invaders broke up! Ray blasted through a set of tried and true Invader's goodies mixed with a handful of pop standards of the day and in doing so set the scene for what was to become one of New Zealand's more successful and interesting chapters in our music history.
