Description
Wellington band D-SUPER released their stunning debut album STRAIGHT TO THE SUN first week of December 2001 on Wildside, the label that brought you Shihad, HLAH, Slim etc.
D-SUPER have been decsribed as a 60s Rock ‘n’ Roll, Surf garage punk band. The band had a brief but stormy history. Late 2000 guitarist Johnny Kofoed left and Liam Finn filled in for him at one King’s Arms gig. The band chose to add a keyboard player, Luke Benge (Dave’s younger brother) in place of Kofoed. This line-up played the bFM Summer Series in Albert Park, early 2001. Then mid 2001 bassist Dave Benge moved to Melbourne mid-year in his role as Fur Patrol manager. He was replaced by Jules Desmond (also bass player in Letterbox Lambs).
