The Korg SQ-1 is a analog style sequencer that will play nice with CV synths with the option to output both or either lines to both Hz/V and V/Oct pitch inputs, so will work with almost all CV equipped synths, Korg or otherwise.

This is really sweet, especially if with the linear mode which provides true analog pitch control (i.e. non-quantized), but you can also choose different setting to only allow notes to major, minor notes, or all. The MIDI output serves only traditional quantized MIDI notes.

You can either run it as 2 separate rows of 8 step sequencing, i.e. for use with two synths, or my favourite so far has been sequencing the new Odyssey using the first row for pitch, and the second row for the length of the note (actually Odyssey reacts well by CV as the LFO remains free running compared with keyboard that retriggers the LFO with each press).

Quite a lot of creativity available with Korgs step jump and active step options, along with more common gate on/off and slide between notes.

You can sync the SQ1 to other equipment such as standard DAW software by USB or from Korg Volcas using Volca sync. It runs on 2 x AA batteries, or draws power from USB if connected (including any USB adapter such as a phone charger).
