Description
This is one of my favourite bluegrass albums and it’s an updated, invigorated slab of flawlessly played, feel-good tunes!
Check out the boys instrumental prowess on the steaming “The Train That I Ride”, the hot banjo pickin’ on “Russian Around” and the near-hit, first version of Mike Nesmith’s gorgeous “Different Drum”.
Best of all though is the weird atonal groove of “Alligator Man”, the totally muppets “Chicken” and the great harmonies and breakneck playing on “Little Birdie”.
If you love the music on the Coen Brothers great movie, “Oh Brother Where Art Thou?” you’ll definitely love this!
