Superb Stuart and Sons Art Nouveau,Peacock Trails/Cairngorm,brides basket in silver plate holder.

Has applied green glass,resembling peacock feathers,with the 'eye' in a raised dome. There is a clear glass fluted band of glass to hold the bowl in the holder.

The silver holder is marked,EPNS,on the base.

This example measures 160mm to the top of the handle. The bowl is 130mm across.

Called a 'Brides Basket',these were a favourite wedding gift from the 1880's until about 1905.

Condition of this piece is superb,with no damage.

A wonderful piece in true Art Nouveau style!!
