Wow!!.....as rare as you are likely to find, theses stunning free-form winged sculptures dipping in 24 carat gold showcases decadence and flamboyance at it's best - just a superlative imposing form!

... like curling waves of gold...rich, luxurious and so unashamedly decadent!

...it has a irresistible richness and elegance to it...you actually feel like a giant magpie swooning over what must be one of the most impressive free-form "bling-fests" created...always attracting attention and envy! ;-)

...I call these "Rococo Wings" in reference to its highly embellished wing-like form literally dripping with 24 carat gold.....almost as if some rich Italian religious motif from centuries ago (cherubs wings etc).....it is just quite simply phenomenal!

.... this wonderful expression, circa 1950, spanning nearly 30cm's long (..but more like 50cm's along it's tightly curling spine), it commands attention and is most definitely a unique, rare and superlative centerpiece!

• from the flat base with a clear crystal shell, the form begins it's organic like flourish through no less than 16 ribs, these ribs reach out through a long bodice each end running into beautiful full bellied irregular teardrop lobes grouped together like wings.... curling upwards and then down and over as if golden wave crests...

...these "wings and rim have been dipped in 24 carat gold - Wow! - the gold is feathered out as if dripping back down the shell.....the entire effect is amazing....as you look through the piece, turn it over, the combination of the gold at the base and outline, and the corrugated nature of the ribs, make the piece appear as if completely made from gold in some light....

....of all the pieces I have owned, nothing is more richly decadent than these winged expressions...

A "Pièce de résistance"! - in lovely vintage condition for it's 50-60 years with only age-related wear and a wealth of plated gold intact - displays like a golden dream!
