ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This is what I believe to be a two-part, mould-blown, Victorian penny lick dating from the late 19th century, c 1880. A penny lick was a small glass used by street vendors for serving ice cream at a cost of one penny per serving. The customer would lick clean the glass and return it to the vendor, who would reuse it. They fell out of use due to the hygiene problems that resulted.

The bowl is heavily thickened towards the base to reduce the amount of ice cream it contained. The bowl sits on a capstan stem which leads to a plain foot
