A beautiful milk jug from the Tunstall Pottery of Hollinshead & Kirkham. Designed and painted by R Grocott, this dish was produced between 1932 & 1942 and shows Viola flowers with some leaves, against a boldly coloured background. The interior is galzed in a bright yellow which tapers to cream. The jug, which is c115mm tall and c90mm across the base, is in good condition with no chips or cracks but is crazed. The back stamp is very clear, but the signature is only partial.
An amazing survivor of the Art Deco era.
