Rare Royal Worcester mark, “Made Expressly for Kay & Co. Ltd”.
Kay & Co Ltd, the mail order company, was one of the biggest employers in Worcester from 1889 until 2007. It commissioned Royal Worcester to produce these two pin dishes, one featuring Worcester Cathedral (which was used on the cover of the company’s catalogues for many years) and the other featuring Edgar Tower, all that remains today of Worcester Castle.
As new, presented in a gift box with description of each, fine bone china with gold rims, 10 cms width.
