Areas serviced: Over summer I am preparing next years stock, so get in touch now to ensure availability of plants from April 2018.
Availability: Availability is by appointment. Please phone John on 022 066 1960 to arrange a day and time to visit the nursery at 200 Tawa Road Kumeu.
Manuka, kanuka, whiteywood, karamu, flax, cabbage trees, karo, toe toe, five finger, kowhai, totara and a number of carex grasses are ideally suited for stage one revegetation. Specific sub-species grown from seed sourced from our area are ideal. We source the seed locally, propogate on site, then transplant into pb3/4 sized bags and half litre trays of 28 plants per tray. We have tens of thousands of these plants available to go out from April 2018.

We also supply and grow on some larger natives such as nikau palms, rimu, kahikatea, kauri, tawa, karaka, titoki, puriri, rewarewa, pukanui and pohutakawa. ...not to forget the stunning and critically endangered kakabeak.

Excellent service. John was very friendly and helpful. The selection of trees was amazing. My daughter is already planting her tree, and we look forward to our kakabeaks flowering. We will be back as soon as we need (or want) more natives for our garden.

John Sims: Thank you very much. After they have flowered next spring a bean like green pod will appear. As soon as it goes black and started to open the seeds are ready to germinate. Soak them in water for 24 hours and they will swell up, then sew in some seed mix, very light amount of seed mix on top, keep moist and they pop up in a few weeks. They are a stunning native plant in full flower.
